Abstract The Study of planktonic and benthonic foraminiferal species, biostratigraphic units and paleoecology carried out on the subsurface tertiary sediments of Kafr El-Dawar well No. 1 in the northwestern part of the Nile Delta Egypt and presented herein has led to the following : (1) The recognition of 255 species, subspecies and varieties, these were identified, described and illustrated, 90 planktonic foraminiferal species were found to belong to 15 genera and related to three families. (2) Three new species are intoduced for the first time, tow planktonic and one benthonic foraminifera.
