Abstract
In this thesis, seismic studies on the subsurface succession in the Nile Delta area have been made for structural and lithofacies investigation. The rock until of Kafr El - Sheikh formation has been considered in this work. Available data for this study includes the seismic analong survey records (monitors) of eight regional lines and the well velocity surveys in about 17 deep wells drilled in the area. The data has been kindly provided by the Egyptian General Petroeum Corporation (EGPC). The study however, required calculation of NMO velocities on top of Kafr El Sheikh formation and on top of Abu Madi formation as well as the calculation of the interval velocity for Kafr El Sheikh formation by Dix,s method (1955). Depth section of eight regional lines to about 3000m below sea level have been prepared.
