Abstract

El-Manzla area is located in the north east delta of A.R.E. lies between longitudes 31 45 E and 32 20 E and latitudes 30 50 N and 31 30 N . The total area is approximately 175 Km 2 without the lake which equal 142.000 feddan whereas Manzala lake area reaches 320.000 feddan with a depth of one meter and this area become to be 127.000 feddan . This due to the natural and human factors .Also, due to the difficult which farmers facing such as scarcity of irrigation water at some times and also, irregularity of bumbling work of darning water.
The objectives of the study :
(1) Evaluation of lands and different land uses of this area using evaluation system of El Fayomy (1989).
(2) Producing maps for some properties which are considered as major or basic properties to differentiat soils and the land uses.
(3) Predication of area suitability for eventual land use.
(4) Recommendation and application which proposed to enrich the outputs of each land use forms.
A- Field work
B- (1) Four villages were chosen at El- Manzla area (El- Bosrat – Bander El – Manzla –El –Nasima –El Ashfra). These villages were chosen to represent the biggest agriculture used area and also to have different actual land uses as : Cultivated crops, Fruits, Fish farms, old cultivated land and recent land.
C- 20 profiles were carried out obtained at the four villages to represent the different land uses in the area. The soil samples were taken to the depth of water table and also water samples of irrigation, darning and ground water were taken for chemical analysis.
