Abstract The current study aimed at preparing a suggested program for French language teachers for the purpose of remedying dyslexia of beginners learning French language. The sample consisted of 35 fourth year French department students at Damietta faculty of education, Mansoura university in the academic year 2009/2010. The study findings can be summed up as follows: (the units of the suggested program were highly effective in developing French language prospective teachers capacities to remedy the selected aspects of dyslexia including listening confusion, substitution, omission, reversal, and poor silent reading comprehension. The discerned effectiveness was manifest in the significant difference between the mean scores of the sample students in the pre-application and their scores in the post-application of the awareness scale, situational test, and observation checklist in favor of the post-application. Recommendations and suggestions for future research were finally presented. |
