Abstract In the past , the finical selection implications of unsuitable spare parts may not have been very significant with simple implements. Recently farm machinery becomes rather serious with ever increasing complexity and cost of modern machines .In this work efforts have been made to find the suitable tillage system under the Egyptian conditions based on soil pulverization, soil properties , energy requirements and total costs with respect to timeliness of operations. The following tillage system : 1- combination machine for seed bed preparation and seed drill )Dutzi KR1500). It was used to break up the subsoil hard pan. 2- Chiseling followed by rotary tilling. 3- Chiseling followed by harrowing. 4- Two chiseling followed by harrowing. 5- Rotary tilling alone. The choice of these systems was based upon comparing the traditional methods. Two sites were located at rice mechanization center in Meet El-Deeba through 1991 and 1992 seasons at agriculture research station cultivated at each site as follows : Clover , wheat and rice were drilled by Nordsten seed drill while, maize was planted by Gesbardo row planter when using the last four tillage systems. Both the Belaurs and the universal 65 hp tractors were tested to operate the combination machine. |
