Abstract The ultimate goal of the research is to achieve minimum broken rice from the milling process. A rubber roll husker composed of two horizontal rubber rollers, revolving in opposite directions and different speeds, the different in speeds causes the husks to be crushed and removed from the kernels. A regulating wheel makes it possible to control the pressure on the paddy between the rollers. This machine was driven by a 7.5 H.P. motor. The whitening cone was used to whiten rice, it removes the siliver skin from the husked rice. The variety of rice used in the study is Japonioase 47 type (Nahd). Tests were also conducted to study the effect of mechanical factors on rice crack. Also test were conducted to study the effect of drying conditions on rice crack. |
