In the Ottoman era, Lebanon Mountain has enjoyed some aspects and features which made him unique from many other parts in the Ottoman Empire, first of it is the denominations and sects which live inside this entity, in addition to that, the presence of the ruler families and cliques in the mountain, what makes this entity more complicated is the conflict of the big countries to gain domination and power by imposing its protection over the mountain sects. The French interest of Lebanon Mountain returns to the period of the Crusades, and the Maronites’ help to the French army in favor of they are followers of one doctrine, the relationships were tied up between France and the Maronites for long periods included the kindness and protection of France, the protector of Roman Catholicism in the east, the Maronite sect in Lebanon Mountain has a serious of messages to the French kings from the Maronites and the big families that assure this relationship.
