Abstract

Informations concerning response of peach trees to urea foliar feeding are still lacking. Thus. this work was conducted during the two successive season, of 1976 and 1977 to put some light on this subject. In addition, this study was also under taken to compare between the effect of urea foliar sprays and equal amounts of the actual nitrogen when added as ammonium sulphate soil application to peach trees.
Thus, seventy two meet ghamr peach var. tress (the wide spread cultivar at Dakahlia Governorate) of similar vigor, free from diseases and grown in clay loam soil were selected at random for this study.
The results obtained could be summarized as follows :
A) Trees sprayed with urea showed no response to urea absorption, hence no pronounced increase in yield, fruit weight, fruit size, fruit firmness, weight of both pulb and seed, fruit quality, Vegetative growth and nitrogen leaf content was obtained.
B) Contray to the effect of urea foliar spraying, the fertilization with equal amounts of actual nitrogen at the form of ammomium sulphate soil application gave a significant response in all the above mentioned aspects as follows.
