Abstract The present research was performed to study the influence of gibberellin and cycocel on bud fertility, vegetative growth, yield, fruit quality and in Thompson seedless grapevines. This study was initiated in 1988 and conducted during 1988 on 17 years old vines grown on a sandy calcareous soil, at on orchard located at north of Tahrir province. The data obtained have revealed the following points. A) Effect of Ga3 and ccc on bud fertility and bud differentiation : 1- GA3 at any rate (10 or 40 ppm.) and date (on April 20 or may 5) decreased the fertility of the seventh bud significantly. 2- GA3 also reduced markedly shoot buds fertility. 3- The highest reduction in bud fertility was found when GA3 sprayed at 40 ppm. On April 20 or may 5. 4- On the other hand, ccc at 300 ppm. At increased reached about 23.3 % and 20% for the two seasons when ccc was added on April 20. |
