Abstract
The present investigation was carried out at El-Kanater El-Khairia research station farm during the two successive seasion af 1978 and 1979.
the aim of this investigation was to study the effect of universal, GA3, potassium nitrate , calcium nitrate. universal plus GA3, Universal plus ca (NO3)2 Sprays on the level of the endogenous gibberellins , auxins , phenols and carbohydrate in buds of golden Japanese , Hollywood and Methyl tress and the relationship between these compounds and bud breaking . Moreover , the effect of the above mentioned compounds n foliation , flowering , fruit –set , yield and fruit quality , was also included . the results obtained could be summarized as follows :
1.Effect on date of vegetative and flower bud break :
a.All applied treatments except calcium nitrate hastened both vegetative and flower bud breaking.
b.The highest response in bud opening was found when universal at 5% plus GA3 at 300 ppm was sprayed since these treatments enhanced bud breaking by about 10-15 days.
