Abstract
Efforts have been devoted to explore the antimicrobial activity of local Egyptian actinomycetes isolates . 127 pure actinomycetes isolates were recovered from the stones at the location of the tomb of Tell Basta ( the site of the ruins of the old temple of Bast ) which is south - east of Nile Delta at the township of Zagazig in EgyptThe most competent isolate showed promising activity against some pathogenic yeasts , fungi and bacteria
