Abstract Two experiments were carried out in Faculty of Agriculture Farm at Katr El-Sheikh, Tanta University .Egypt during two successive seasons (1979/1980 and 1980/1981) to investigate the effect of plant spacing and nitrogen tertilatlon on safflower growth, yield and its components. Twenty four treatments, which were the combination between tour plant spacing., (10, 20, 30 and 40 Cm.). three nitrogen levels (i.e. 0. 30 and 60 Kg. per faddan) -and two safflower cultivars Giza 1. and line 16 were applied in each season. Nitrogen used was in the form of ammonium nitrate (31% N) and equally split applied before the first and second irrigation, respectively . |
