Abstract
The present study was c a r r i e d out by using f i v e d i f f e r e n t types of t r a c t o r s . Each t r a c t o r v;as equiped with proper t i r e s i z e . Also, two d i f f e r e n t models of c h i s e l plough were used, t o study t h e effect of t i r e s i z e (diameter end width), i n f l a t i o n pressure and forward on t h e following f a c t o r s : 1- Drawbar pull (P). 2- Rolling r e s i s t a n c e (R.R. ). 3- S l i p r a t i o (S). 4- Coefficient of t r a c t i o n (c~). 5- C o e f f i c i e n t of r o l l i n g resistsnce(CRR). 6- T r e c t i v e e f f i c i e n c y (T.E.). The f i e l d experiments of the present study were conducted ~t Rice Mechanization Center, Meet El-Deeba, Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate, Egypt. The s t u d y r e v e a l e d t o t h e following main points: 5.1. Drarbar pull (P): Increzsing t h e dizmeter of t i r e from 140.208 t o 182.372 cm. tends t o increase the drawbar p u l l by 276, 367 and 587% a t forward speeds 2.95, 4,04 and 5.28 krn/h, r e s p e c t i v e l y , While it was increased by 175, 229 and 297% by i n c r e a s i n g t h e width of t i r e from 34.54 t o 42.93 cm st t h e above mentioned forward speeds respect-ively.
