Abstract
In an attempt to understand the origin , mode of formation, and degree of development of soils in the north district of Nile-Delta, a physical, ohemical and mineralogical study has been carrted out on soils of Kafr-El-Sheikh governorate, Eleven profiles were selected beginning from Mesir Farm in the south and ending with a profil e from Burullus Lake beach besides a sample from the bottom of the lake. Mechanical analysis , carbonates, pH, 0 .M. , soluble cations and anions; exchange capacity of soils , exchangeable Ca, Ng, Na and K as well as the total chemical analysis of the soils are reported.
