Abstract Tobramycin is a member of the aminoglycoside antibiotic group. It is the most active of all the aminoglycosides against gram-negative bacteria as pseudomonas aeruginosa. Also, it proved to have activity against proteus species, Escherichia coli, citrobacter species and providencia species. The aim of the present work was to detect the potential nephrotoxic effect of tobramycin on the proximal and distal convoluted tubules histologically, histochemically and ultrastructurally in two different dosage regimen. |
