Abstract
The purpose of t h i s study was ho evaluate the waters of both El-Gharbia Main-drain and Bahr Tera canal for i r r i g a t i o n purpose, and also to evaluate the effeot of i r r i g a t i o n water contaminated with d i f f - erent l e v e l s of Zn, N i , Cd, or pb on growth, yield, and mineral cornpositon of bean plants. Therefore, water samples were collected from eight s i t e s alolzg El-Gharbia Main-drain. Also, f r e s h and mixed water samples were collected from s i x s i t e s along Bahr-Tera canal. The samples were taken in January and July, 1987, f o r estimating EC, pR, soluble cationa of anions, soluble boron and sqme heavy metals i.e., Zn, Cu, Mn, Pe, Co, pb, IJi, Cd and Sr.
