Abstract
The present investigation was carried out during 1984/1985 and 1985/1986 seasons on ”Washington Navel” and ”Valencis’’ orange varieties grown in the Aggrarian Reform Orcnards at Snino, Kafr El-Sheikh Province, where the soil is slightly alkaline. In this study, three levels of nitrogen (600,900 and 1200 gm/tree/year) were used with the recommended doses of P and K. Also, some treatments involved different types of soil amendment agents (gypsum, sulfur and horse bean residue) added with the three nitrogen levels to improve soil physical and chemical properties, hoping to improve root and vegetative growth and to produce maximum yield in this area.
