Abstract

Three experiments were conducted to investigate the chemical evaluation of tapioca meal as energy source and the effect of feeding different levels of tapioca meal on the performance of poultry. lkelve adult males Rhode Island Red (R.I.R. I were used to determine the true metabolizable energy for tapioca meal and yellow corn (Exp. 1). Four hundred and fifty, one day old broiler chicks (Hubbard) were used to study the effect of feeding different levels of tapioca meal (0, 10, 20, 30 and 40 % on the performance and carcass characteristics of broiler chickens (Exp. 2). Three hundred and sixty l aying hens (R. I. R. ) , were used to study the effect of feeding different levels of tapioca meal (0, 10, 20, 30, 40 and 50 %) on the performance of 1 aying hens and egg qua l i ty (Exp. 31.
