Abstract Field and pots experiments were carried out on sweet pepper, cv. Califprnia wonder during the l a t e smrner of 1984 and 1985 seasons, i n the farm of Faculty of Agriculture, Kafr El-Sheikh. Tne main objective of t h i s research w a s to study t h e e f f e c t of shade and some f e r t i l i z e r treatments on .sweet pepper grown i n the l a t e summer seasons. The shade levels included 63%, 5574, 40% shade and unshaded as control. The BPK fertilizer l e v e l s were t e s t e d using the r a t i o s of 1:2:1 and 2:2:1 and these included three l e v e l s of 150,112.5 and 75 Kg/fed. The f i e l d treatments were arranged in a s p l i t s p l i t - p l o t design with four replicetions. Shade levels treatments were d i s t r i b u t e d randomly as main plots 3 NPK ratioa and f e r t i l i z e r levels were assigned as sub and sub sub-plots, r e s p e c t i v e l y . Pl o t a r e a was 3.12 m 2 (2.6 rn long and 1.2 m i n width) . The pepper s e e d l i n g s were t r a n s p l a n t e d on 2 9-t h May, 1984, and 1st June, 1985 at a density of 6 plants /rn2. Shade nets were spread on s o l i d iron framed tunnela (7.5 rn width and 2.5 m height) on 15 Q June and removed three months l a t e r in both seasons. Data were tested by analysis of variance, and Duncan’s multiple range t e s t was used f o r the comparison mong the means of treatments. |
