Abstract The main objectives of t h i s research were to study the effects of f o l i a r sprays with some nutrient elements on the yield and quality of tomato f r u i t s . The study of quality included, a c i d i t y , total soluble solids, firmness and f r u i t size (weight). The study included also, the most d i s t r u c t i v e disorders affecting the f r u i t ; Blosson-end rot and cracking. The experiments were carried out during the summer seasons of 1974 and 1975, i n the farm of t h e Faculty of Agriculture a t Kafr El-Sheikh, Tanta University, R.A.E. The v a r i e t i e s used i n t h i s study were Ace and Pritcha rd. The f o l i a r spray treatments used were: Boron a s boric acid 50 ppm., calcium a s calcium monophosphate 0.02$, magnesium as magnesium sulphate I.$, a mixture of boron 50 ppm and calcium 0.0%, a mixture of boron 50 ppm and magnesium 1%, and control, without any f o l i a r spray treatment. The experiments were designed a s a complete randomized plot design. |
