Abstract
The a3.n of the present work is t o study the effect of LilLage operations water status on some soil physical szd chemical proper.tLes, as w e l l as the growth and yield of rice in a clay soil. Two varieties of rice (Giza 172 mc!. Giza 180) were planted In the 1979 and 1980 seaaons.Bjne treatments resulting from the combination of 3 tillage operations (zero, reduced and complete tillage) and 3 water levels (zero suction, 5 md 10 cm water head) were compared i-A stripe plot design with 4 replications.
