Abstract Rube1 la infection of the susceptible pregnant women frequently leads to congenital rubella infection of the developing embryo and fetus can result in consequences such as miscarriage, still Birth and a wide variety of congenital defects ( Orenstein, et. al, 1985). The fatal infection rate was 90% when symptomatic maternal rubella occurred during the first 12 gestational weeks, dropped to 25 - 30% when infection occurred during the second trimester (cooper 1985). This study included 162 girls and their ages varied between 14 - 29 years old and their sera were examined for the quantitative estimation of rube1 la IgG by ELISA technique. |
