Abstract

Fouling organisms are constant source of annoyance and expense. This led many nations to spend millions of pounds in order to investigate this problem and overcome of it. The presented study may stand as an up to data attempt on the very interesting international fouling problem in our native Egyptian Harbours, with special reference to the principal fouling organisms, their seasonal variations, their natural correlations and similarities between them. This ecological studies of this work represented a new addition about the fouling organisms in the Suez Bay. The Suez Bay area received a light important of these studies because it a shallow extension connected between the Suez Canal and Suez Gulf, in addition for exposing to pollution from three main sources: 1) Industrial waste products. 2) Domestic drainage of Suez City. 3) Ships’ oil and refuse. The results were summarized as follow: 1) This work lasted for 13 months extending from January 1992 to January 1993. The study was carried out on an area extending from the inlet of the Suez Canal to Adabiya in the tip of the Suez Gulf, i.e. The northern region of the Gulf of Suez (Suez Bay)
