Abstract
In the present study the seed and grain coating fungi were investigated for three plants; soybean, wheat and castor-bean. All the utilized seeds and grains were subjected to different storage periods ( 1,3,5.7,1&0 13 weeks ) in different humidities ( 77.5% , 81.1% & 92.9% ) . At the end of every storage period, in each humidity, fungi coating seeds and grains were detected using two methods; seed ( or grain ) plate method and dilution plate method . Dominant fungal species were selected to detect their toxic effect on the vitality of seeds and grains which was achieved by germinating experiments after every storage period. Fungicides ( Bavistin, Dithane M-45 and Antracol-combi ) were applied, each by different concentration to the seeds and grains for the protection from the fungal contamination . The same fungicides were also examined to control the dominat fungal spe- - cies on both solid and liquid media. Statistical analysis was carried out for the resulted data . For soybean seeds, fungi recovered by each method were twenty three species Aging to nine genera. By seed plate rnthod. the lowest counts were recorded at the 1& week for all humidities . while the highest were represented at the 5 week for 92.9% and 81.1% humidities and at the 7 week for 77.5% humidity; the most dominant fungal genera were.
