Abstract pracondylar fractures of the humerus constituted the terial of this study. The age ranged between 1 and 7 ars with a mean age of 4.69 years. Males were affected in .6 per cent of cases and the left side was also affected the same percentage cases. The majority of cases (70.6 r cent) were grade II fractures and only 29.41 per cent of ses were grade III fractures. After initial radiological examination and according to ie degree of displacement, it was judged whether it was icessary to manipulate the fracture or not/ followed by imobilization in posterior Plaster-of-Paris slab with the Lbov in 90 degrees and the reduction was then evaluated ideologically in all cases by the technique described by aumann in 1960. (4l The Baumann angle was measured on the X-ray of the tjured side with accepted reduction. Also, Baumann angle the carrying angle on the normal side were measured. |
