Abstract

The present study investigated 60 normal gravid women between 7-12 weeks of pregnancy and divided them into 3 groups:

Group II : Comprises 20 pregnant women with gestational ages ranged between 7-12 weeks. The women chosen in this group were suffering form nausea and vomiting once or twice I day confined to morning (emetic group).
Group III : Comprises 20 pregnant women with gestational ages ranged between 7-12 weeks. The women chosen in this group were suffering from vomiting throughout the day until it affects the general condition of the patients (dehydration, low blood pressure, rapid pulse and general weakness). This group served as the hyperemetic group.
Patients of the third group were assessed two weeks after treatment to determine any affection of the thyroid or liver status.
Levels of serum FT4, FT3, TBG and liver enzymes (ALT, AST, ALK-Ph.) were measured in all patients using the highly sensitive
radioimunoassay (RIA) and liver enzymes (ALT, AST and ALK Ph.)
were measure by automatical analyzer Roche/BM/Hitachi 911 using (buffer/ enzyme/ coenzyme) kit.
