Abstract The recognition that there are significant difference in natural history and outcome of Q wave and non Q wave MI was established over 20 years ago. It’s now clear that the NQMI whose incidence appears to be rising, carries an increased risk of reinfarction and recurrent ischemia. In deed NQMI late mortality may equal or exceed that of its Q wave counterpart. There is some controversy about NQMI, its evolution and prognosis. The most recent studies showed that inspite of the low immediate mortality in NQMI, the long i term risk of ischemia, reinfarction or sudden death is J equal or even greater than in the QMI. Therfore the goal of this study was to define if there tis considerable difference in tlie coronary pathoanatomy etween QMI and NQMI. The study population included 40 patients with lyocardial infarction presented by typical chest pain more ban half an hour with elevated CPK level at least twice ie upper limits of normal with an abnormal ECG i.e- |
