Abstract In the last years nasal endoscopy gained a great importance in the diagnosis of recurrent rhinosinusitis . The present study included 50 patients suffering from recurrent rhinosinusitis. A full sheet was taken for every patient in addition to complete E.N.T. examination and plain x - ray of paranasal sinuses. Nasal endoscopy was done for every patient with local anesthetic to examine the nasal cavity. The commonest anatomical variations detected by nasal endoscopy were pneumatized agger nasi(5 cases), concha bullosa (6 cases), paradoxically bent middle turbinate (10 cases), hypertrophic middle turbinate (4 cases), medially bent uncinate process cases), enlarged ethmoidal bulla (4 cases) and deviated septum (32 cases). In many cases there were more than one anatomical variation in the same patient. The pathological abnormalities which were detected included discharge (26 cases), allergic nasal polyp (5 cases), atrophic rhinitis (5 cases), inflammed oedematous bulla ethrooidalis (3 cases), |
