Abstract

Environmental impact assessment is the process which gives the decision – maker a clear picture of the impacts to aid him make the best decisions for the society. The prediction, assessment and identification of the environmental, social, economical and health potential effects for new establishments including expansions of the existing ones have been carried out through Environmental impact assessment.
Egypt has issued lows and a regulation concerning Environmental assessment for new establishments before a permit was issued by the low 4/49 and its executive regulation issued by prime ministers decree no 338 of 1995. The low stated that new establishments or projects, expansions or renovations of existing establishment must be to an eia before a permit is issued.
