Abstract Chapter (I) This chapter deals with the theoretical consideration of the subject about the surface active agent especially which containing heterocyclic moieties and their dividing into ionic, cationic, nonionic and amphoteric surfactant beside their industrial applications, Also it includes dividing according to ring size and the number of hetero atoms present in the heterocycle. Chapter (II) It divided into three parts: Part (1): It includes the synthesis of quinazolinone and quinazolinone derivatives from 3,1-benzoxazinone (1) which was prepared from the reaction of the acid chloride of stearic acid with anthranilic acid. Fusion of 3,1-benzoxazinone with Amm-acetate at 170°C produce quinazolinone (2), 3-N-hydroxy quinazolinone (3) was obtained when benzoxazinone (1) reacted with hydroxyl amine hydrochloride, acetylation of 3-N-hydroxy quinazolinone produce 3-N-acetoxy quinazolinone (4). 3-N-ethoxycarbonylmethoxy quinazolinone (5) was obtained when 3-hydroxy quinazolinone (3) was allowed to reacts with ethyl chloroacetate. Quinazolinyl urea and thiourea were obtained when benzoxazinone (1) were reacted with semicarbazide hydrochloride and phenyl isothiocyanate respectively. Hydrazine hydrate reacted with benzoxazinone (1) to afford 3-N-aminoquinazolinone (11 a) which on acetylation with acetic anhydride it afforded acetamide derivative (12). |
