Abstract
The experimental work was carried out at the animal house of Animal Nutrition Research Department and in Mahelat Mousa Experimental Station Kafer El-Sheikh Governorate, Animal Production Research Institute, Ministry of Agriculture, Egypt, during 2001- 2002.
The study included two experiments: The first was laboratory study to determine the effect of chemical ,biological treatments and ensiling corn silage (with different methods) on chemical composition, crude fiber fractions In vitro DM and OM disappearance of biologically treated corn stover residue and silage quality.
The second experiment (growth trial) was conducted according to the results obtained from laboratory study, the best biological treatments of corn stover residue and the best corn stover silage quality were selected for feeding trial to investigate their on Iamds (1/4 Finland+ 3/4 Rahmmany) performance, some rumen parameters, some blood constituents, carcass traits and economic efficiency.
