Abstract Sprague-Dawely rats (n=64) were classified into healthy and diabetic rats, diabetic induced by (i.p.) administration of alloxan. All rats consumed the balanced diet incorporation with phytate at a tested dose of lg/100g diet and/or the two tested alcoholic sugars (sorbitol and mannitol) at a dose of 5g/100g diet in case of healthy and diabetic rats. The biological evaluation indicated that in general values of food intake of healthy rats that consumed the tested treatments were exceeded the values of corresponding diabetic groups. The values of final body weight and body weight gain affected for far on FER which appeared strongly significant decrease in all diabetic groups and significantly in healthy rats consumed balanced diet phytate, while incorporation of phytate with sorbitol or mannitol recorded non significant differences compared to their corresponding controls. With respect to fecal Output, the values of fecal dried weight significantly increased by consuming phytate either alone or in association with two tested alcoholic sugars in healthy and diabetic rats. |
