Abstract This study was conducted to evaluate the effects of four different types of investment materials and their techniques of application on the mechanical properties and clinical performance of Co-Cr alloy, using laboratory and clinical studies. For laboratory study, twenty specimens were prepared following the International Organization for Specification (ISO). According to the type of investment materials, they were classified into four groups. Group (I) used investment with regular particlesize (Control Group), Group (II) used RK3 fine fluid investment in combination with Rema-Exakta, Group (Ill) used RK-Dur fine investment with metal hardening effect in combination with Rema-Exakta and finally, Group (IV) used Wiroplus-S investments produced especially for silicone duplicating material. The resulting metallic specimens were submitted to various mechanical properties test including tensile strength, elongation % yield strength, and hardness. |
