المستخلص

Binocular vision represents a highly coordinated organization of motor and sensory processes. Objects in the space falling on disparate retinal areas but physiologically seen singly are said to be in Panum’s s area of single binocular vision.
Fusion is the cortical unification of visual objects into a single perception. For retinal images to be fused they must be similar in size and shape. For fusion to occur it is necessary to have overlapping visual fields, corresponding retinal elements and normally functioning extra ocular muscles. Stereopsis occurs when retinal disparity is too great to permit the simple fusion but not great enough to elicit diplopia.
