Abstract

The main target of the present study was to evaluate and improve the utilization of date stone meal (DSM) as an untraditional feedstuff in both breeding and growing New Zealand White rabbit diets through two experiments. In both experiments, three levels of DSM (15, 20 and 25% of the diet) were used. Each level of DSM was fed either without supplementation treatment or with a commercial probiotic (super bio-action, SBA) at 1g/kg diet, a commercial enzyme mixture (Kemzyme) at 1g/kg diet or treated with a 2% solution of sodium hydroxide in addition to the control (without DSM). Accordingly, a total of 13 experimental diets were used (3 levels of DSM x 4 treatments, in addition to the control without DSM).
