المستخلص
Buildings of mosques has based on pure Islamic thinking worshipping of God. Beside the religious function of mosques which is performing the daily five prayers, they have other important functions on the social, political, judgmental and economical life. That is why mosques are always considered the spiritual and religious emittements centre in the moslim life. However as time passed the function of the mosques, apart of the religious one, have been turned to be performed in places other than mosques consequently moslem vommunities have lost an essential and mainly act that was mosques play. In order to retrieve the early Islamic civilization in the contemporary city and protecting it of lost, mosques have to be always kept as a religious centre and as an express of the deepness of religion in the belivers harts. However this research aims to study and clarify the architecture of modern mosques especially in Egypt in order to re-establish the lost functions of mosques to cope with our present life.
