The research intends to develop a reference manual which contains the importance urban Features the cities in the central zone of the western coast of the Red Sea in Egypt. Hurgada, Safaga and El Kosier. It would be possible to clarify the extent to which existing urban structures have satisfied the environmental and natural prerequirements its of the area.
This would result in the identification of the factors that greatly affect urban structures and which belong to this area of the Red Sea Western Coast.
In view of this analysis, the recommended design criteria of the urban structures of new settlements will be abstracted so as to design such structures in accordance with the environmental and natural determinants of the area.
The research approach was based primarily on field work to collect data of the study area on physical, plopulation, and economic aspects of the area. This is to select those environmental and natural features of the most significant impacts on the urban structual design of these settlrments.
This would imply the development of design recommendations of the urban structure of the new settlements in the central zone of the western coast of the Red Sea, those are, in accordance with the environmental and natural determinants of the area.
The research contains four chapters that cover various elements of this field of study as outlined below.
The First Chapter:
The Physical Featurs of the Red Sea study area have been defined.
The analysis is abstracted to the major physical and natural features of the study area which are unique to this area.
The Second Chapter:
Contains the field work carried out by the researcher to analyse the physical characteristics of the cities in the central zone of the area *Hurgada, safaga, and El-Kosair.
This chapter is concluded by the identification of the extent to which the urban form has been enfluenced and formed by the environmental and natural determiannts, showing the positive and negative attributes of the urban forms towards satisfying the pre-requisites of these determinants.
The Third Chapter:
This is concerned with the analysis of the most important determinants that affcts the urban form which is unique to the settlements of the central zone of the Red Sea Western coast which contains.
Most important Factors have been extractd to develop the optimum local climatic conditions have been concluded.
The Fourth Chapter:
This contains the results and recommendations which were reached through this research.
