المستخلص
Miss-use and waste of resources constitutes a serious hindrance and limitation against development. Therefore; this research aims at studying and analyzing the resources available in the Egyptian City in relations to the comprehensive development process. The aim of the research is achieved in five main parts.
The First Part proposes an approach to better understand urban resources by providing a more accurate, detailed, and comprehensive definition and classification for these resources.
The Second Part explores means for optimizing urban resources by providing a better understanding of resource utilization as a concept and a process, the significant role it plays in development, the factors affecting such a process, the criteria that may be used to achieve resource optimization, the various resource utilization conditions, and planning for optimum resource utilization.
Part Three uses the theoretical base established in the previous two parts to analyzes the existing condition of resource utilization at the national level. It clarifies many and wide spread forms of miss-use miss-management of resources.
Part Four provides and analysis of current status of resource utilization as it is found in assiut City. The part shows several forms of resource missuse in both the physical and human aspects of the environment.
The conclusion of the research suggests an overall conceptual framework of policies and measures useful in resource optimization.
