Abstract

Proteins from the important structural parts of the soft tissues of the animal body such as muscle, connective tissue, collagen, skin, hair, hoofs and, in the chicken, feathers, nails and the horny protein of the beak. The value of protein depends upon its essential amino acids

make up and to what extent they are available. The requirement of one amino acid is essentially a function of the concentration of the other nutrients in the ration. The general relation between efficiency of protein utilization and the balance of the amino acids of this protein is already well know as the theory of the limiting amino acid. However, certain amino acids have special relationships.
