Abstract The first part of this thesis i8 a review anatomy & physiology of the eyelids.Bnd a histrorical review of the management of the different types of ectropion followed by a review of the ophthalmic literature as rsgards to the aetiological classifications and the proper management of each type of ectropion. The second part of this thesis includes a study of eighty cases of different types of ectropion i.a. seinle,cicatricial, parslytic and mechanical types. This study aimed at determining ~ The frequency of each type among our patienta. 2. The incidence of each type in different age groups. 3. The aetiology and pathogenesis of the different types. ~. The associated complications of each type. 5. The proper lines of treatment for each type of ectropion. Our study deals with briefly with the aetiology and development of each type of ectropion and the most frequent assooiated complications which are epiphora.
