Abstract
The present work was initiated in order to throw more light on the geology and sedimentology of the upper eocene and oilgeocene sequences of the area northwest of birket Qarun, Fayum district. A photo geological map based on aerial photograph (scale 1:40.000) and top graphic map (scale 1:100.000) was constructed for the area bounded by latitudes 29° 31 to 29° 42 N and longitude 30° 50 E. The different rock units are traced and described in the field.
