Abstract In the present work, latex agglutination test was used to detect rotavirus directly from stool samples of infants and young children up to 2 years with persistent and acute diarrhoea. The present study was carried out on 50 cases suffering from persistent diarrhoea and 50 childern suffering from acute diarrhoea as controls. Age, sex, season, type of feeding and clinical manifestations were recorded. In persistent diarrhoea, 3 cases were positive for rotavirus where the acute diarrhoea. |
