Abstract Macular edema is a major cause of loss of vision in persons with diabetes mellitus.Macular photocoagulation treatment has improved the visual prognosis of diabetic maculopathy.Fluorescein angiography has proven to be a diagnostic tool used to reveal circulation characteristic and documents certain ocular pathology.The aim of this work is to evaluate the role of fluorescein angiography in management of diabetic macular edema.This study was carried out on 50 eyes of 35 diabetic patients, all these patients had clinically significant macular edema.All patients were subjected to full ophthalmological examination,systemic examination, fundus photography. Fluorescein angiography and central visual field examination were done before laser treatment and then three months after treatment. |
