In this research, the researcher discusses the topic: Effectiveness of Psychodrama in alleviating Social phobia for Children.
Childhood is an important period in man’s life for this, there is a great attention in it and the future of the whole nation.
As Mental Healthiness is infinite, some people are prone to many hehauioral and psychological disorders as a-result of their inner and outer
circumstances.
Among these disorders is the social phobia, they are widely spread among children, Sweelani and others (1980) indicate that those who have social phobia are (25%) of other phabias Beidel et al(1995) that it is (l%,2%) in the whole world, it always begins at the age of eight or the
twelfth.
The Researcher asserts that treating these phobias for children should be before entering anew stage, before the problem becomes more dangerous. The researcher, through the theoretical back- ground and the previous studies, confirms that it can be treated, this is asserted also by znhran (1987), Kamilla Abd Elfatah (1991), Azeez Samara and Esam Nimr (1992), Mclean & woody (2000), and others, they all assert that group therapy is effective with similar problems like introversion,
difficulty of adjustment, shyness; ect.
Psychological group therapy of which is apart psychodramais a part is considered a therapeutic and effective method through which
behavior can be changed.
In the Light of all the previous, the researcher found many questions [what is the effectiveness of psychodrama in alleviating social phobia for children after therapy, the extent to whish males and females can be treated?] Study Terms:
1-Social phobia:
The behavior characterized by illogical fear, related to various social situations. Man needs to interact effectively, but he withdraws, or avoids it so as to save himself from feeling of frustration. 4-There is no statistically significant difference between the mean degrees of the experimental group (males) and the mean degrees of the experimental group (females) in social phobia after the follow-up period.
The study Results:
The study results reveal that all hypotheses have come true in the light of the theoretical framework and the previous studies, and the culture of the society in which the research sample lives.
