Abstract This work is carried out for studying the torsional dynamic performance of a milling machine drive and the effect of various paramenters of cutter geometry cutting conditions and work piece hardness on torsional vibrations as it has a detrimental effect on tool life and surface finish mailing machine type 6mbI is chosen for this investigation for experimental investigation of the dynamic behaviour. A mechanical torsional exciter is designed to imposeation harmonically varrying torque on the rotating or stationary spindle the exciter casing which carries 4 planatory gears is fixed to the machine spindle. |
