Abstract Several recent publications have demonstrated the usefulness of endorectal sonography in evaluation of rectal diseases describing rectal endosongraphic anatomy, highlighting the techniqual aspects of rectal endosonography and summarizing available data on major clinical indications for rectal endosongraphy including imaging of perianal fistulas, the evaluation of anal sphincter injuries and the staging of rectal cancer. Endorectal sonography is usefull in diagnosis of benign rectal and perirectal lesions such as hyperplastic polyps, villous, tubulovillous, and tubular adenomas are well defined hypoechoic lesions . |
