Abstract

The present study aims at understanding the effect of some physiological and environmental factors such as the use of growth regulators, water supply and phosphorus fertilization, on growth and shedding in broad bean plants. Two pot experiments are carried out during the seasons of 1973 and 1975 at the green house of the agriculture. The results obtained show that: with respect to growth characters; plants treated with both high level (5.4 and 7.2 Gp/pot) show an increase in these growth parameters. The low water supply increases flower and pod shedding while, high water supply decreases this phenomenon. With respect to chemical constituents, the low water supply decreases nitrogen concentration while high water supply and both Gp levels increase it in the different plant organs.
