Abstract
The present investigation aims to study comparatively the effect of crossing iraqi local breeds on some economic trAits. The characters studied are body weight, body length, chest circumference, height at hips and withers, thickness at hips and withers, depth at hips and withers, greasy fleece weight the results obtained show that : the two reciprocals together with tHe karadi lambs are all significantly (p4 0.05 better than the awassi in body weight at most ages studied. The two reciprocal lambs are superior over both parental breeds in most measurements at birth, 2 months and the first greasy fleece weight.
