Abstract A study the genetic behaviour of some important qualitative and quantitative characters in peanut namely; growth habit, stem hairness, pigmentation of anthocyan on peg, pod constriction and seed shope as qualitative characters. The quantitative charaters studied are: date of first flower, main stem length, pod weight and seed weight. The experimental work is carried out in the seasons 1969, 1970 and 1971 at the experimental farm of the Agricultural Center at Kafr Sakr, Sharkia proviince. The genetic studies are based F, and F2 generation. Growth habit character shows complete dominance of spreading type over erect one in F, and gives a dihybrid vatio in F2 population due to presence of two Pairs of duplicate genes. |
