Abstract
One of the objectives of the present study is to provide empirically based economic findings, as to the main factors influencing the trade of the mediterranean fresh winter oranges. Contemporary world-wide economic and political instability dominating the international market and there by affecting trade of citrus are discussed. World production and consumption of citrus is also discussed. International trade of fresh winter oranges is studied. The theoretical framework of the present dissertation is given. Empirical results of postulated alternative political and economic factors on trade flows, export, receipts and fob are presented and discussed.
